Adam Ebbin Backs Moran

ALEXANDRIA – Delegate Adam Ebbin announced his support of Brian Moran for Governor of Virginia today. Ebbin is the highest-ranking openly gay elected official in Virginia and the only openly gay member of the General Assembly. Ebbin cited Moran’s long-term commitment to fighting discrimination and his strong opposition to the Marshall-Newman Amendment.

“Brian Moran has always been a leader in the fight against discrimination, even when it wasn’t popular,” Ebbin said. “He was the only candidate to fight against writing discrimination into our constitution. I was proud to stand with him in the General Assembly, to campaign with him against the Marshall-Newman Amendment, and I will stand behind his campaign for Governor.”

Moran has been repeatedly endorsed by the Virginia Partisans Gay and Lesbian Democratic Club and received the support of Equality Virginia PAC during his time in the legislature. Moran consistently voted against and campaigned against the Marshall-Newman Amendment in 2006. He is the only candidate for Governor to do so.

Brian Moran has a 20-year record of fighting for the people of Virginia. He was Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus and a Delegate from Alexandria City and Fairfax County. Prior to that, he served as a prosecutor in Arlington County.
