You know why your business hasn’t quite hit the Six Figure level? Because you have a finite amount of time, and an infinite amount of shit to do.
On Tuesday, I told you about how focusing on “The 3 Step Profit Plan” resulted in my first $100k online. Mostly by slashing my To-Do List down to exactly 3 things. Instantly eliminating 90% of the tasks that I let clog up my time.
Because when it really comes down to it, there are only 3 ways to actually grow a business. Paraphrased from a killer quote by sales legend, Jay Abraham…
1: Get More Customers
2: Get Them To Buy More
3: Get Them To Buy More Often
I had this Ah-HA! moment in late 2009, and The 3-Step Profit Plan has been the foundation for every brand I’ve ever touched.
By the way, this post is Part II of a series about simplifying your business + winning. If you have not read Part I, The 3 Step Profit Plan: How I Made My First $100k Online, make sure you check it out now.
The Simple Six Figure Game Plan
Today I run SamCart, and get a top-down look at how 1,000s of businesses sell a TON of their own products/services. And across the board, SamCart’s Top Sellers have figured it out. The business model is simple, and they stick to it.
Spend your time getting more customers in the door, give them opportunities to buy more stuff, and keep them coming back to buy again and again.
That’s the entire game plan.
If someone ever asks you to take on anything MORE complex than that, run in the opposite direction. Because every business I have ever come in contact with has thrived when they got serious about keeping it simple!
So let’s take the next step here. Let’s dive deeper into what The 3-Step Profit Plan really looks like in practice. This is all useless if you don’t draw a line in a sand, and understand what tasks/strategies/whatever fall under this new game plan, and what needs to be cut out of your schedule entirely.
I’ll give you a hint, you can immediately stop stressing over the color scheme for your WordPress site, trying to create your lead magnet, or putting together the slides for some 90-minute webinar before you’ve made your first sale.
You can focus on that stuff LATER. We want to spend 100% of our time on tasks that impact sales right now. So with that in mind, here are the 6 strategies that deserve 100% of your attention…
6 Steps To A Six Figure Business
1: Find ONE Consistent Source of Traffic
2: Write A Great Pitch
3: Boost Your Average Transaction Size
4: Create Multiple Offers
5: Nail Customer Follow-Up
6: Continually Present New Opportunities To Buy
Write these down! These 6 are it. These are the tasks that 6-figure business owners understand. This is where their time goes. This is where the difference is really made.
Hobbyists take months to pick our a theme for their blog. Pros fill up their time from this To-Do List.
Listen, if any of this is stinging to read, don’t sweat it. I am embarrassed about how much time I wasted back when I was first launching TrainBaseball! Being in that room with Paul Reddick and his successful buddies, I felt like an absolutely fraud.
But I buckled down + got serious about my business. I changed my game plan, and got to work. And you can do the same.
So listen, I have been putting something together that any who is digging this whole “Simple businesses succeed” thing. It’s not about knowing a ton of secrets, constantly chasing the next big idea, or endless working on every new strategy you hear about.
It’s the opposite.
The Going Pro Game Plan
The game plan you get from listening to every expert is flawed. It leaves you overwhelmed, burnt out, with no results.
But like you’ve seen….my game plan is pretty different. If you want to get your hands on an even more detailed version of my business game plan (only so much you can share here in a couple emails!), then stay tuned. Because I just got my first proof back from the printer, and this Monday, you’ll have your shot to grab a copy for yourself!
I called it, “The Going Pro Gameplan: The 3 Steps To Building A 6 Figure Business”. It is a step-by-step walkthrough of the tasks, strategies, and skills you need to create a business you’ve dreamed about. This isn’t theory, or high-level. This is strategic, down and dirty, walking you through what to do right now.
So if you’ve loved the last few emails from me, you’re going to love this. But I’ll be back with more info, stay tuned to your inbox.

P.S. Quick thank you for all the replies to Tuesday email! It was awesome getting to talk with so many of you, hear about your own frustration with having too much crap on your plate.
And to hear some relief as you realize you don’t need to master everything. Their game plan is flawed, and it’s not the only way.

Epic post! Thank you.

So you say that the six steps are the only thing that should be on your to-do list. What about the actual operation of the business? Meaning if I am a web design business, and I get a new client, I need to actually spend time building their website. I am not yet at the point where I can pay for someone else to do the actual work.

I’ve been trying to cancel my recurring fees being charged to BrianMoran.com and there is nowhere for me to cancel. I actually have no idea what I bought as I have zero mail from BrianMoran.com in my email even though that is where I am being charged. I sent a message on Facebook on May 2 and got no reply. Hate posting a message here, but don’t know what else to do. Please stop my payments and refund me for the charges since May 2.

Hey Bill, so sorry man. I’ll have Rico reach out ASAP and take care of you. If it’s a $29/mo subscription, it’s for the Revenue Report, which I’ll have Rico give you access to, just so you can see what you bought. Sometimes people can accidentally buy it, because it’s an upsell…if thats the case, we’ll absolutely refund the payments, but I’ll make sure you can check out the material before deciding you don’t want it. Cool?
